The facility mainly houses minimum ad medium-security inmates. Inmates are kept in double single and multiple occupancy cells, depending on the level of security. The MacCormick Secure Center was constructed on a 37-acre site in east Brooktondale, Tompkins County. New York.

It was first opened in 1984 and came with 240 inmates; however, over time, the facility has become even bigger with the capability of housing around 39 inmates.

The MacCormick Secure Center comes with a separate entrance building and an inner complex, plus a visiting area. It also has a library, religious center, dental and medical area, canteen, gym laundry, and a state industry.

The MacCormick Secure Center has a couple of rules as to the type of mail and packages that can be received by an inmate, and it is best to ensure you are familiar with this before sending the mail or package.

Please do not add extra papers, stickers, or stamps, as they will be discarded.

Sending Money

Inmates are allowed money into their commissaries; however, there are few details you need to get right before sending the money to ensure it reaches the intended person. This includes names and IDs.

The MacCormick Secure Center advises people to use money orders while sending money to the facility mainly.

Phone calls

If you are sure the inmate is in custody at the MacCormick Secure Center and doesn't have the time to visit them, then a phone call is the next best thing. You can get a phone call from the inmate at your cost, as collect calls are the main medium of phone communication.

If you decide to pay for the phone call, you will receive a call in order. Once you accept you will be charged; however, if you decline it, then you will not be able to talk to them and you will not cover any costs.

The visits are mostly short in time length, and visiting days of the week are Saturdays and Sundays, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
