The Burke CRV Center is a medium to high-risk prison with effective security that can house up to nine hundred and sixteen inmates. The facility will also house minimum offenders as they wait for the court process to determine their final destination.

The Burke CRV Center comes with a special management unit where they house high-risk prisoners. The unit comes with three pods of single cells, while protective custody and reception inmates are kept in closed custody units, which come with six pods of single cells.

The Burke CRV Center facility provides an opportunity for educational programs that will allow inmates to earn a GED, vocational skills in horticulture upholstery, woodworking, and music. The Burke CRV Center also comes with options for both group and single counseling sessions.

The Burke CRV Center will allow inmates to exchange mail with loved ones and other people they wish to speak to. However, certain kinds of mail correspondence are prohibited at the Burke CRV Center, including mail between inmates, an inmate and their victims, a person the inmate has been prevented from speaking to through a court order, and an inmate mailing a minor.

All mail will be opened and read except for legal mail. Any mail written in code will be treated as contraband and confiscated.

When it comes to packages, certain kinds are allowed, including magazines and books, which have to come in through an accepted and known distributor like Amazon. However, even packages have to adhere to a certain code, where if they contain harmful material, they too will be confiscated.

Sending Money

Inmates can receive money deposited to their commissary account.

To get to deposit money to their account, you will need to know the inmates' particulars, including their North Carolina DOC number and date of birth.

You will also need to deposit the money online through the facilities' website. After creating an account, you can then use your MasterCard visa or debit to deposit money to their account.

Phone calls

Calls are allowed at the Adult. However, they have to be made to collect calls, and the receiver will have to pick up the tab; however, there is also the option for making prepaid calls.

To ensure the inmate has money for prepaid calls, you can deposit the money with their Maine department of corrections website and deposit money to the inmates' prepaid telephone account.

Visitation

To be allowed to visit an inmate at the Burke CRV Center, you will be required to be approved by the facilities officials, after which you can visit the inmate during walk-in hours Thursday through Sunday between 8:30 am, and 10:30 am and 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.

For inmates housed in the prison's general population, visitation times are Thursday through Sunday between 6:30 am and 8:30 pm.

Non-contact visits are prescheduled with the prison through 828-433?4036 between 8:30 and 11:00 am and 2and 5 pm.
