The Farmville Detention Center is a level five correctional facility that houses male inmates and is located near Farmville, southern Prince Edward County. The facility is the largest male prison in Virginia, housing roughly 2,500 inmates.
The Farmville Detention Center also houses pre-trial detainees, plus death penalty inmates, with the capability for carrying out executions.
